85th Annual AVC Anniversary Gala

The Antelope Valley College Achievement Awards raises funds for students and recognizes the accomplishments of outstanding alumni and friends of AVC.  Established in 2004, the AVC Achievement Awards honor individuals whose association with Antelope Valley College – either as former students or friends of AVC – have established a tradition of excellence through their achievements and service to the college and the community. On March 21, 2015, Alan and Angela were honored for their community service work with the Foundation. 

3rd Annual Celebrating Women in Trade Luncheon

On Wednesday, November 14 2013, the Jacob Hefter Foundation had a booth sponsored by Union Pacific at the 3rd Annual Celebrating Women in Trade Luncheon. The purpose of the luncheon was to connect approximately 100 young women from high schools in Long Beach to approximately 100 professional and industry women working in the goods movement industry. As told to the Foundation,  the committee thought that "Don't Text and Drive" was an extremely relevant topic for this audience and also a good tie into the goods movement industry.

Southern California Edison Day Oct 30, 2013

On the afternoon of Wednesday, October 30, 2013 the employees at the Southern California Edison -  Antelope Valley District Office held their annual Employee Contributions Rally.  It was attended by approximately 100 employees.  The Jacob Hefter Foundation was the charity sponsored this year. Angela and Alan Hefter and Stephanie Gutierrez were in attendance.

City of Palmdale 2013 "Dont Text & Drive Day" Proclamation

On Sept. 4, 2013, the Jacob Hefter Foundation was honored by the City of Palmdale as Mayor Jim Ledford and the City Council proclaimed September 12, 2013 as a "Don't Text and Drive Day" in honor of Jacob. The City has recognized the dangers of texting while driving, and thanks the Foundation for the hard work and dedication to making our community safer.  

K-B's Birthday

Saturday March 16, The JHF along with Dave Owens of Farmers Insurance and many others, enjoyed a great day of celebration at the Jethawks Hangar for K-B's 17th Birthday.

Over a 1000 people were there to celebrate K'B's birthday and to welcome in the start of the Division Champions Baseball season. Folks had the opportunity to purchase tickets for games, fun activities for kids, get a stadium tour, do batting practice and much much more.

Valley Press

A HUGE KUDOS to the Valley Press for 2 awesome articles recently written and published in the paper this past week. We are very honored to have the Local newspaper and these professionals recognize the efforts that the JHF is trying to put forth to help protect others in our community.The articles were in the edition on 03/14/2013, on the front page and in the Sports Editon in the column written by Brian Golden.

PHS HCA Senior Project

On March 14&15, 2013 the JHF partnered up with 5 Palmdale High School Health Careers Academy Seniors as they did a Senior Project on the Dangers of Texting & Driving.

The students, Shaun Gutierrez, Nicole Alvarez, Analelly Madrigal, Daniela Barrera and Robert Orona facilitated a day referred to as 'The Last Text'.

The NASA/ Dryden Flight Research Center annual Safety Day

March 13, 2013 the JHF was honored to be key note speakers at The NASA/ Dryden Flight Research Center annual Safety Day.

The JHF was represented by Angela Hefter and Stephanie Gutierrez as they spoke to the audience of over 1000 NASA Employees on the Dangers of Texting & Driving. Angela and Stephanie shared their personal experience of the tragic day of September 12, 2008....This was fitting for the Safety Theme of "I never thought it would happen to me"
