In early 2013, The Jacob Hefter Foundation sponsored with Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) to provide a scholarship in honor of Jacob to students who were working to complete their education in the medical field. The student was selected based on their display of leadership characteristics, integrity, and ambition, as well as their ability to maintain a clear focus towards their goals. The recipient of this years scholarship was Breeanna Wright, age 17, a Valedictorian graduate from Palmdale High School.
